Jinnamnu Gate Pavilion
This pavilion was the south gate-pavilion of Gongsanseong Fortress during the Joseon Dynasty and served as the key gateway into the three southern provinces. Jinnamnu Gate Pavilion was constructed during the early Joseon Period when the earthen ramparts of the fortress were replaced by stone ramparts. The pavilion underwent several renovations later on. However, the entire building was dismantled and restored to its original form in 1971.
By constructing a building three kan units long and two kan units wide on top of a high stone foundation, the architects created the illusion of a two-story pavilion.
