Beopwangnu Pavilion
Bongeunsa Temple located in Gangnam-gu attracts people from all over the world. Once you pass through the Jinyeomun Gate, the Gate of Truth, the Beobwangnu pavilion comes into the view. Its name means this is a place for the king of dharma, the residence of Buddha. Across from the main Buddha Hall, a ceremony named ‘Sasiyebul', having a Buddhist service between 9:30 am and 11:30 am, is held in this dharma hall. It is also a location for various practices such as dharma talks or prayers.
Additionally, when a major dharma talk is held, Beobwangnu pavilion offers additional space for prayers. Inside, there are 3,300 statues of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Gwanseum Bosal in Korean, enshrined. So, it also provides a practicing ground for the belief in the Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.
