The rainbow-shaped stone gate at the temple entrance was created to commemorate the visit of King Sejo, the 7th King of the Joseon Dynasty in 1467. With two foundation stones supporting the structure, a total of 26 of rectangular stones were used. At that time in Gangwon-do Province, there were 26 counties. It is said that King Sejo ordered the 26 governors to each send a stone. These stones were used to create this gate.
After passing through Sacheonwangmun, the Gate of the Four Heavenly Guardians, you will arrive at Binilru. This two-story wooden structure has three panels as wide as they are high. Here, you can enjoy the sunrise in the east. As this hall is a set a bit more in front than other buildings, it gives off the impression that it has come out to receive you first. Also, the front and back of the roof are uncommonly asymmetrical.
