What do you call this trail?
[Curator]
The trail from Botajeon to Uisangdae is called, “The Fluttering of the Heart.” In Naksansa, there are three themed trails. The first one starts from the entrance of the temple, from the pine tree woods to Wontongbojeon, “The Beginning of Your Dream.” Then, once you do the three bows there, the trail leads to Haesu gwaneumjeon, “The Realization of Your Dream.” There you can see the delightful wide-open space that looks over the east sea. Last, “The Fluttering of Heart,” the trail from Botajeon to Uisangdae, which has been recognized for its beautiful sunrise. Finally, Hongyeonam Hermitage comes into the view. This hermitage is a remarkable prayer ground known for its miraculous energy.

I can see what you mean. It is really beautiful here. I remember seeing Uisangdae in the video for the Korean National Anthem.

Shall we continue on the trail filled with clean energy, and walk toward the cliff near the ocean? This gazebo was constructed to commemorate Venerable Uisang, the founder. Two old pine trees standing high and fierce in the sky go very well with the dignified gazebo and solid rock walls, don’t you think?
Why not enjoy the view of the east sea at Uisangdae? As you contemplate the scenery of the ocean weaves and blue water in the surrounding area, you will be able to understand why he chose this spot for his meditation. Also, Uisangdae was introduced as one of the eight famous locations along the Eastern Sea in the song, "Gwandong Byeolgok," which means "the Song of the Scenery of the Gwandong," by Songgang Cheol Jeong, a famous poet of the Joseon Dynasty period. This timeless spot is still one of the most highly regarded places in Eastern Korea.
It is said that one will be able to see the sunrise of Uisangdae only after the one’s family builds up good karma. Now, let’s head over to Hongnyeonam Hermitage, the most famous prayer ground, where every prayer will be heard and answered. The view on your right, along with the strong wind will clear your mind.
