Gulbeopdang, the Dharma Hall in a Cave (Yakcheonsa Temple, Jeju)

Gulbeopdang, the Dharma Hall in a Cave, of Yakcheonsa Temple

Moving on to Gulbeopdang, the dharma hall in a cave. The cave is commonly found in Jeju Island, and it is in the highest point of Yakcheonsa Temple. The Bhaisajyaguru Buddha here is enshrined at the center; Avalokitesvara, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion in White Robe, on the left; and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva of Hell, on the right. On the right altar, Budong Myeongwang, and the Alia of the Destroyer, is enshrined, in the hope that he will protect all from misfortunes at Yakcheonsa Temple.

Gulbeopdang is an ideal place to take a short break. The sense of solace has also attracted many patrons to pray in this temple.
