Sapsido Island, Boryeong
Sapsido Island, located in Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do, is the third-largest island in Chungcheongnam-do, named after its shape resembling an arrowhead.
On Sapsido Island, the three treasures that the local community cherishes and takes pride in are the Golden Black Pine Tree, Myeonsapji, and Mulmangteo.
The Golden Black Pine Tree, which is the first treasure, is a globally rare plant with golden-hued pine needles. Since it is just a young tree that is about 50 years old, the pillars are not thick, but it is mysterious to see the color of the leaves sparkle golden.
The second treasure, Myeonsapji, means land that separates from Sapsido Island during high tide but reconnects during low tide. When the tide is high, it becomes an isolated land that is not able to reach, but when the tide recedes, it rejoins the main island.
The third and final treasure, Mulmangteo, is a mysterious natural wonder unique to Sapsido Island. When cool, fresh water rises from the cracks in the rocks, it will reappear after being submerged in seawater.
In addition to these three treasures, there are attractions such as Geomeolneomeo Beach, with fine white sand and dense pine forests, and Jinneomeo Beach, renowned for its uncontaminated sea areas with clean water. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and dense pine forests while walking along Sapsido dulle trail, which is built in the shape of the island's arrowhead.
