Jawoldo Island, Ongjin

Jawoldo Island, located in Ongjin-gun, Incheon Metropolitan City, is named so because "the full moon is exceptionally red and beautiful." After arriving at Jawoldo Island by taking a ferry from the Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal, you will be greeted by a red crescent-shaped arch.

Incheon, home to Jawoldo Island, is the region in Korea with the latest cherry blossom blooming season. The 4 km-long cherry blossom path around Jawoldo Island's Guksabong Peak boasts a dazzling view where you can enjoy the essence of spring. Climbing to the top of Guksabong Peak, which is only 166 m above sea level, allows you to overlook Daeijakdo Island, Soijakdo Island, and Seungbongdo Island at a glance. On a bright and clear day, you can also enjoy the panoramic view of nearby islands such as Incheon Harbor and Daebudo Island. This is an island where you can enjoy both trekking and going on a trip to the sea all at once.

Jawoldo Island has a variety of attractions. The Jawaldo Dulle trail is surrounded by many broadleaf trees, making it a forest path where ecological exploration and observational learning are possible. It is also a popular "healing" tourist destination that people of all ages come to visit as it can soothe their minds and bodies.

At Janggol Beach, the representative beach of Jawaldo Island, you will find fine sand and groves of acacia trees and black pine. Another beach, called Keunmal Beach has a small but cozy atmosphere that is best suited for quiet relaxation. You can also enjoy the experience of clamming, gathering shells, and catching crabs in the mudflats.
