Bukhansan Dulle-gil
Welcome to Bukhansan National Park, a nature park within the city. Not sure where to start exploring? In that case, I recommend taking a walk along the Bukhansan Dulle-gil.
The Bukhansan Dulle-gil is a horizontal trail created by connecting and refining existing side paths, allowing for a leisurely walk along the slopes of Bukhansan Mountain. Stretching 71.5 km and divided into twenty-one sections, each segment has its own unique charm. Highlights include Section 1, the "Pine Forest Trail," lined with dense pine trees, and Section 2, the "Sullye-gil," which honors independence activists with a cemetery that inspires a sense of resilience. Section 3, the "Huingureum-gil Trail," features a 12-meter-high viewing platform offering sweeping views of downtown Seoul, while Section 4, the "Solsaem-gil," showcases various wildflowers. Each of the twenty-one sections offers its own distinct characteristics.
The Bukhansan Dulle-gil is captivating on its own, but there are also various attractions to enjoy along the way. At the meeting point of Section 1 and 2, you’ll find Ui-dong Solbat Neighborhood Park. Just off Section 2 is the Peach Blossom Tunnel at Baengnyeonsa Temple, while Section 9, known as Masil-gil, starts at Eunpyeong Hanok Village. You’ll also encounter Wondangsaem Park along the Royal Tombs Path in Section 20. Walking the Bukhansan Dulle-gil provides an opportunity to discover these and other scenic spots.
The Bukhansan Dulle-gil invites people and nature to come together harmoniously. Please note, however, that “Uiryeong-gil” in Section 21 requires an advance reservation if you wish to visit.
This coming weekend, why not take a walk along the Bukhansan Dulle-gil, where history, culture, and nature’s beauty await?
