Seobuk Gangnu
The Seobuk Gangnu was a Nugak constructed on the fortress wall to command the army around the Hwaseomun area. A Nugak signifies a house built on a high level without doors or walls in order to provide a wider view of a large area.
The Seobuk Gangnu had four rooms, among which one held a staircase going above. Some of the rooms downstairs had a stone heating system for soldiers to take a rest. The Seobuk Gangnu was situated in a protrusion along the fortress wall and had holes above and under it, making it convenient to observe the movement of the enemy’s.
