Bukseo Jeokdae
The Bukseo Jeokdae, situated to the northwest of the Janganmun, was a Jeokdae built in 1795. A Jeokdae signifies a fortress installation that had a rather high elevation, situated inside the fortress, and spaced every 82.6 meters from the center of the fortress. This was where soldiers would observe movements of the enemies and store weapons.
As guns were already in use by the time the Fortress was built, the Bukseo Jeokdae also had crenels for guns as well as bows and arrows.
