Andonggu Market, Cultural Street
Making a Space for Youth, Romance, and Tradition Together
As the Mugunghwa train pulls into Andong Station, Cultural Street, the old center of town, comes into view right across the street. This is a popular hangout for many visitors: young, old, and even whole families traveling together.
Not only are the major events in Andong held here, but Cultural Street is the birthplace of culture. As it is the very center of Andong, it offers a wide range of amenities: clean benches; a stream passing through; movie theaters and street stages where people can enjoy cultural experiences; and even franchise stores. Taken together, these make the old center of town feel younger and more colorful.
To better serve international visitors, merchants receive foreign-language training to improve the quality of their services. Additionally, duty-free shops are currently being built, to add even more convenience for shoppers. The area will soon be reborn as a shopping heaven. Now, let’s go and enjoy the fun and excitement of Andong, in its streets filled with both traditional and modern beauty and charm.
