An Earring from Dae Gaya
In addition to decorating the body, these accessories had other purposes. Accessories showed that a person held a high position and authority, and they also had the shamanistic purpose to prevent misfortune.
Ancient kings and noblemen of the West also wore extravagant accessories for the same reason.
Dae Gaya’s accessories are also very beautiful. Among many, the earrings are truly marvelous.
Dae Gaya’s earrings have a bead-shaped decoration in the middle of them.
Below it, there are chains connected to hanging leaf-shaped or cone-shaped decorations.
The earring that is on exhibit, which can be viewed with a magnifying glass for a more detailed view, was excavated from the ancient tomb of Dae Gaya. The cone at the bottom has very detailed decorations.
The desire to look beautiful and show off one's social position hasn’t changed from the past.
