Sataekjijeok, Lamenting The Flow of Time

This stele was erected by a noble of Baekje named Sataekjijeok. He held a senior governmental post which is similar to a modern prime minister.

It looks like graph paper. There are many lines and letters. What does it all mean?

After his resignation, Sataekjijeok lamented the rapid passage of time. He then built a temple in order to devote the remainder of his life to Buddhism.

He lived a wealthy, honorable life as a prime minister, so what did he regret?
[Narration]
Wealth and power are of little significance when you’re getting old and weak. Even a wealthy and powerful man, such as Sataekjijeok, regretted that time had passed so quickly. It is a life lesson for all of us.
