The Manufacture and Use of Trumpet-shaped Copper Implements
[Tourist]
There is a really strange-looking copper artifact over here. It looks like a split piece of bamboo. It must have had a special use for it to have such an interesting shape.
[Doctor]
Yes, it is a copper implement that resembles bamboo. Don’t you think it looks like the handle of a knife? Its concave back side resembles the inside of a bamboo stem and there are rings on the top that allow it to be attached to other objects. Can you see the design on its surface?
[Tourist]
It looks like a dotted line.
[Doctor]
Yes, that’s correct. You have a very keen eye.
[Tourist]
So what was it used for? Was it worn on your arm? Like an arm protector?
[Doctor]
It looks like that may have been the case, doesn’t it? It may have been an arm decoration worn together with armor. I don’t think either of the artifacts displayed here were used in everyday life. It is more likely they were used in rituals. Unfortunately, we still do not know exactly what they were used for. What do you think?
