Green Pool_Wave

Welcome to the “Green Pool _ Wave”. Why don’t you sit down on the tube and imagine that the green lawn is a blue river in a romantic and relaxing atmosphere?
Green Pool _ Wave was made by combining a fancy idea of a citizen to create a pool on the lawn and interesting interpretation of it by an artist.
The artist was inspired by the Hangang(River) slowly flowing down and bending back and forth, and described beautiful waves on the lawn in a three dimensional manner.
The wave of small hills creates a comfortable landscape while infusing vitality to the space and creating various forms of rest.
The long bench going excellently well with the small hills provides citizens a place to sit down side by side or stroll around while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Hangang(River).
Why don’t you sit down on the big tube and have a breath of fresh air?


I am Jaehyeog Choi, and I am an artist.

When I first heard of the green pool suggested by a citizen, I thought it was a plain but very fresh idea.
Anyone who sits down on the tube installed on the lawn will recall beautiful romantic memories on the beach or riverside.
Also, I thought it would be a good idea to add some more fun to the lawn. An interesting space would attract more people to play and take a rest there.
Imagine, what if the lawn was a pool filled with water making beautiful waves? Wouldn’t it be much more fun? Hence, I added one more theme to the idea of green pool, which is “wave”.
On the other hand, I thought an architectural element was necessary to serve as a frame of the space. That is why I made a long bench that goes absolutely well with the naturally waving landscape.
The space will become an excellent walking trail where some people sit down side by side and look at the Hangang(River), while others strolling around.
