House of Wind
‘House of Wind’ is an organic space where long and thin lines make small minimum units which make larger units together, thereby becoming larger units. Therefore, this space has a potential for further changes.
The geometrical and three dimensional structure looks like a ‘maze’ divided into spaces of various sizes. And there are small structures between the mazes, which will be used as ‘chairs’.
This organic structure will serve as spaces for people to have fun, enjoy, take a rest and relax.
Also, the change and balance created by the six colors of the wire rods give a sense of mystery to the overall space while being in harmony with the landscape of the Hangang(River).
‘House of Wind’ is designed to describe 2 spaces for play and rest in one concept. Some people may stroll or jump around while others take a rest or fall into thought in the House of Wind,
I am Jaiyoung Cho, and I am an artist.
‘House of Wind’ is an installation artwork made of wire rods only. It is installed in an open space and therefore citizens who visit the Hangang(River) can walk into and around the artwork freely.
The beautiful landscape around the Hangang(River) you may see between the thin wire rods and the movements of citizens in and around the House of Wind make whole new scenery while being in harmony with the geometrical and three dimensional space of various colors.
I think the space, which is open in all directions while going absolutely well with its surroundings, will serve as an excellent place for the wind as well as for all of us who need to have a breath of fresh air and relaxation. Would you like to become the wind and visit the House of Wind?
