Story 2 _ SWITCH

The Hangang(River) tells various stories and history of Seoul. For a variety of reasons, some part the riverside was once covered with concrete and has recovered its naturalness. The river has been driving force behind industrial development and now serves as an engine for citizens providing spaces to take a rest. Sometimes, the river is inundated but also various festivals are held all over the places around the Hangang(River).


I am Su-Jeong Park, and I am an architect.

The second story, SWITCH, is designed to show the concept of ‘change’ by using a fishing vessel, Kyeongdongho, with the Hangang(River) as a background. There are external elements changing every moment, such as four changing seasons, water level and so on. Although the scenery around the river looks the same all the time, it changes in a variety of ways as people visiting the place change all the time. SWITCH appears as a medium of such changes and brings new changes to the landscape and look of the river.
