This celadon maebyeong vase with incised lotus design was made around the twelfth to thirteenth century. It features a curved, S-shaped body viewed from the side, and exhibits a vivid incised design consisting of a lotus flower and a lotus leaf stem in three places on its body, and three large floral patterns on its shoulder. Below the body is a single lightning design, which was engraved was engraved obliquely with a knife to create the impression of relief work. It attests to the excellent carving skills of Goryeo celadon potters.
