This celadon pipe with an inlaid chrysanthemum design was made sometime between the late twelfth and thirteenth century. A similar artifact was discovered in Yucheon-ri, Buan, and is now housed in Ewha Womans University Museum. While each end of the pipe bears a single line of lightning design, the surface of the pipe is fully decorated with a black and white inlaid chrysanthemum design. The pipe has nine finger holes for controlling the sound – two at the back and seven at the front.
Some people ask whether it makes a sound or not. As it is an authentic celadon ware, I have never played it, but I am sure that this pipe will produce a clear flute-like sound.
