This celadon oriental melon-shaped vase with an inlaid chrysanthemum design features a widely flaring mouth and a high foot, and was made around the thirteenth century. The body of the vase features six lobes, in each of which the design of a chrysanthemum stem is inlaid in black and white; while a single line of a lotus leaf pattern is inlaid in white on the lower part of its neck. The mouth of the vase flares delicately outwards in the shape of a morning glory, while the tip of the foot is round and thick, giving it a sense of balance and stability. This celadon vase was found in the corner of the room of a beautiful maiden about 800 years ago.
