Table Used by a Confucian Scholar of the Goryeo Dynasty
This table was used by a Confucian scholar. Along with the chair, there are various accessories that were considered essential when writing calligraphy, including an ink-stone, a water dropper, and a writing brush holder, all of which are celadon wares. A Confucian scholar of Goryeo would have passed his time reading and writing at this table. In particular, the water dropper is decorated with an interesting depiction of a young boy and girl, and a monkey.
