Joseon
Joseon was not only a cultural powerful nation with advanced knowledge and technology but also a strong military nation that took a tough stance against foreign invasions. Based on the agricultural policies, it developed scientific technologies capable of reading time, weather, and seasons, and it flourished in various fields of study.
Joseon devoted considerable efforts to protect its well-developed technology, unique culture, and its own national foundation from ceaseless foreign invasions. From the saddles used by General Gwak Jae-woo, who played a major role as a righteous army commander during the Imjinwaeran (Japanese Invasion of Korea), to the merit certificate named “Chamwae Gongshincheop” awarded to those who beheaded Japanese soldiers during the Imjinwaeran.
Also, a memoir of the Imjinwaeran named "Jingbirok," written by the scholar Yu Seong-ryong has as well illustrated the dedication and devotion people had to Joseon during that era.
